Partnership Announcement
September 2025
NODES™ and ElectrifiedGrid™ are excited to announce a strategic partnership that will enable grid operators and energy system stakeholders to better forecast, manage, and prepare the grid for the growing complexities of electrification and renewable energy integration.
As electricity demand continues to accelerate – driven by technology adoption, net-zero policies, and macroeconomic shifts – and renewable generation surpasses 40% of global electricity supply¹, utilities and grid planners face unprecedented operational and planning challenges. Beyond balancing surging demand with evolving supply dynamics, system operators must also prepare tomorrow’s infrastructure, ensuring today’s investments are positioned to capture future economic and energy transition opportunities while mitigating potential grid congestion risks.
Through this partnership, ElectrifiedGrid™ and NODES are delivering an integrated approach to help utilities anticipate and act on these challenges.
ElectrifiedGrid™ is a strategic grid planning platform that forecasts energy demand across a range of future scenarios, simulates 8,760-hour load profiles at the system- and asset-level to pinpoint congestion, and evaluates wires and non-wires solutions including flexibility, to accelerate the development of rate case applications and capital investment plans. Enabled by advanced energy modelling and a digital twin, utilities and energy stakeholders can build a unified, evidence-based understanding of medium- to long-term grid needs to inform where, when and how to optimally deploy and invest in solutions like flexibility markets, managed charging, and infrastructure upgrades.
NODES™ is a Norwegian technology company which is paving the way for a more sustainable future. NODES™ Platform is helping speed up the energy transition by unlocking the value of flexibility within the electricity network. NODES™ Platform provides Flexibility Service Providers (FSPs) with the ability to enroll Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) into flexibility markets, review opportunities to offer flexibility to System Operators (SOs), and submit bids and offers. By connecting these two solutions through standard integrations, system operators will be able to access a wide variety of flexibility on the NODES™ Platform, unlocking an entirely new set of non-wires alternatives options for grid management.
Together, ElectrifiedGrid™ and NODES™ provide system and flexibility operators with:
“Utilities can no longer rely on infrastructure expansion alone to meet rising demand and renewable integration,” said Shak Parran, ElectrifiedGrid™’s Energy and Resources Growth Platforms Leader. “Through NODES, utilities gain a powerful new lever to mitigate congestion — the ability to move from planning to deploying flexibility as a cost-effective, scalable solution.”
“The true value of flexibility is when it is aligned with local grid needs, by leveraging digital technologies and real-time data to respond to grid needs we are able to deliver flexibility at the exact time and place where it can make the greatest impact” said Richard Sarti, CEO of NODES™. “ElectrifiedGrid™ provides visibility into medium- and long-term grid needs, enabling utilities and flexibility to not only align on where flexibility is most effective but also guide renewables and storage investments more strategically.”
ElectrifiedGrid™ and NODES are equipping utilities to transition from uncertainty to insight to action:
